
Hailed for her “rich sonority” by the Portland Press Herald, cellist Amy Gillingham has given concerts across the eastern United States, Canada, Latin America, and
Italy
. As an active solo, chamber, and orchestral musician, her performances have been broadcasted and featured on Michigan Public Radio and WGUC Public Radio. She holds degrees from the
North Carolina
School
of the Arts and the
University
of
Cincinnati College-Conservatory
of Music. Currently in the Doctorate of Musical Arts program at the College-Conservatory of Music, Ms. Gillingham studies with Yehuda Hanani and has served as a teaching assistant in both cello and music theory. Most recently, she performed as soloist with the Central Michigan Symphony Orchestra, as solo cellist in a premiere performance of Tan Dun’s Water Passion after St. Matthew, and as a Performing Artist at the Bowdoin International Music Festival.
